The Fischer Product range
1. Fischer Barometers
Fischer products include barometers. A barometer is a scientific instrument used to measure air pressure. It was invented by Evangelista Torricelli in 1643. A mercury barometer contains a tube with a sealed column of mercury. As the atmospheric pressure changes, the height of the mercury column changes, and this can be measured and used to calculate air pressure.
Atmospheric pressure is at any given time so you can be prepared for inclement weather. It also has a built-in thermometer that tells you the temperature in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. This barometer would be perfect for someone who wants to stay safe while sailing or fishing in rough waters.
2. Fischer Weather Stations
The Fischer weather station is a great option for those who are looking for an affordable and reliable way to track the weather. This station can track temperature, humidity, pressure, and rainfall, and it can also be used to forecast the weather. It's a great choice for those who need a comprehensive weather monitoring solution.
Fischer Outdoor is a well-known German brand that specializes in weather stations and other outdoor equipment. Their products are known for their quality, durability, and precision, and they have a wide range of products to meet the needs of different customers.
If you're looking for a high-quality weather station that can provide you with accurate data no matter what the conditions are, Fischer Outdoor is definitely a brand worth considering. They have models that are specifically designed for professional use, as well as ones that are more suited for home use. So whatever your needs may be, there's likely a Fischer Outdoor product that will fit the bill.
3. Fischer Barograghs
A Fischer barograph is a type of barometer that measures atmospheric pressure by recording the height of a column of liquid in a glass tube. This height is directly proportional to the atmospheric pressure.
Barographs are used for weather forecasting and for studying long-term changes in air pressure. They can also be used to measure the accuracy of other types of barometers.
4. Fischer tide clocks
Fischer tide clocks are great because they don't require batteries and they always show the correct time. Unlike other clocks, Fischer tide clocks get their power from the motion of the waves. They work by converting the motion of the waves into electrical energy, which is stored in a capacitor
This energy is used to drive a clockwork mechanism that winds the clock's mainspring. As long as there are waves, the clock will keep ticking!
It's said to be extremely accurate and is becoming more popular as a precision timekeeping device. The clock is housed in a watertight casing that allows it to be placed in any body of water, and it uses sensors to detect the height and movement of the tides. This information is then used to keep track of time and adjust the clock's accuracy accordingly.
5. Fischer thermometers
A Fischer thermometer is a device used to measure temperature. It consists of a glass tube filled with mercury or alcohol, with a scale inscribed on the side. The instrument is named after German physicist and mathematician Gabriel Daniel Fahrenheit, who invented it in 1714.
The mercury or alcohol expands as it gets warmer, causing the liquid to rise up the glass tube. The scale is calibrated so that the height of the liquid corresponds to the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. Some Fischer thermometers also have a scale in degrees Celsius, which is calibrated by converting the readings from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Fischer thermometers typically have a graduated scale that ranges from 0 degrees Celsius to 1200 degrees Celsius, although some models can go up to 1400 degrees Celsius. They are made of thick, borosilicate glass that can withstand high temperatures without breaking, and they have a small metal capillary tube sealed into the top of the bulb. This capillary tube is filled with mercury, which expands as the temperature rises and causes the level of mercury in the tube to rise.
6. Fischer hygrometers
A Fischer hygrometer is a tool used to measure humidity levels. It consists of a metal tube filled with a salt solution that changes crystal form as the humidity level changes. The device measures the length of the metal tube, and the greater the length, the higher the humidity level.
The History of Fischer Marine instruments
75 years of the fine mechanical manufactory FISCHER
The high-quality optics and haptics of precision mechanical measurement technology still radiate a timeless beauty, sophisticated functionality and craftsmanship give it durability and value, that can accompany us for a whole life. These are values for which the precision engineering manufacturer FISCHER has stood for many years.
Autumn 2020 marked the 75th anniversary of the founding of our manufactory in the Erzgebirge mountains. This is a good occasion to look at the eventful history of the company and special FISCHER products. To continue the life's work of flight engineer Kurt Fischer is a great challenge and at the same time a wonderful task!
Hair hygrometer 111.45 "EDITION 2020" | Human hair hygrometer in brushed brass
The hair hygrometer 111 has been part of the FISCHER range since the end of the 1940s. More than 50 years later our precision hygrometer test winner at Stiftung Warentest (2003).
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of FISCHER, we manufacture our classic in an exclusive "EDITION 2020" in brushed brass. This was limited to 75 pieces and will only be available in the FISCHER anniversary year 2020.
History “75 years of the fine mechanical manufactory FISCHER”
Important milestones in our history:
Kurt Fischer receives permission to establish a precision mechanical workshop in Drebach in the Erzgebirge.
Already in 1946 the first barometers and later further meteorological instruments of solid construction and workmanship are produced.
1958 State participation
The company now operates under the name Feingerätebau Kurt Fischer KG. Extensive development work for the aviation industry.
Micro-barographs for flight landing operations and altitude recorders for aircraft are also manufactured.
1963 Research work
Intensive research work by Bernd Fischer in the field of hygrometry.
This is the reason for the excellent reputation of FISCHER hygrometers, which continues to this day.
1965 Patent FISCHER Aneroid Barometer
The 6-part aneroid barometer movement is patented and 2 years later it is awarded a prize by the German Office for Metrology and Product Testing.
1972 Expropriation and nationalisation
Expropriation and forced nationalisation to VEB Feingerätebau Drebach.
The trademark FISCHER continues to be used due to its international renown.
1990 State participation
Reprivatisation to Feingerätebau K. Fischer GmbH and return of the company to family ownership
