Weather Instrument Accessories

The weather instrument accessories consist of various instruments to measure various types of weather conditions. Some examples are thermometers, rain gauges, anemometers, antennas, wind detectors, etc. These devices are used in conjunction with the main instruments in order to get more accurate measurements of the current weather conditions.

Weather instrument accessories can range from simple thermometers to complex systems required to forecast weather. Most weather instruments are designed to measure only one particular variable, but it is possible for a single instrument to measure 2 or more variables. Weather-related conditions that have been measured by different instruments include the following: precipitation, wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, solar radiation, water vapor, humidity, soil moisture, atmospheric pollutants, and ice accretion on aircraft.

Weather instrument accessories such as outdoor thermometers and barometers, along with indoor thermometers and hygrometers, are used to measure things such as temperature, altitude or atmospheric pressure in order to provide weather forecasts or protect people from dangerous situations. They work with a variety of different instruments and in a range of environments, in residential areas, in locations in nature, and in commercial businesses.

Weather instrument accessories are used for various purposes, including agricultural weather monitoring, weather data collection for accreditation audits, consumer weather technology enthusiasts, and hobbyists. The most common types of weather instruments measure the conditions of air temperature, wind direction/speed, relative humidity or water vapor pressure, precipitation-type or intensity, barometric pressure wave height or changes in height, sun-angle or path length, the chemical composition of air (ozone, NOx compounds), properties of clouds, early warning systems for tornadoes/hurricanes/windstorms/hail or other hazardous conditions.
