Downeaster Wind Speed & Direction, Navy Blue
With a traditional look, this combination wind speed and direction gauge fits tidily into any décor. Top mounted controls are protected from the elements so only the stem rotates in normal function.
Gauge type is enclosed machine with silver bezel and black face with a meteorological symbol. Features a sturdy, solid brass case and a waterproof dial with a double gasket for a weather tight seal.
The "DownEast Wind & Weather" 6” combination wind speed and direction displays are mechanically tethered to a computerized weather station, which tracks the highest wind gust, highest sustained winds, lowest pressure, rainfall totals, temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and dew point.
Each “Tru-Gust” model registers the highest recorded wind speed. This is important because the widely held opinion that Cape Cod is consistently windy is not necessarily correct.
The patented single dial design of the Wind Speed & Direction instrument can easily be read from the helm. The knob turns smoothly and has an amber backlight to make it visible at night. The Wind Speed & Direction measures wind speeds up to 120 miles per hour (130 knots), and is an indispensable addition for all boaters.
The number of days with above 10 knot winds (13+ mph) averages about 60 each year; those with above 20 knot (26+ mph)
Whether you are observing the weather on your back deck, sailing with transient sailors, looking for the wind speed needed for your upcoming kite-flying event or bird watching (birds like to soar in strong winds), this wind speed and direction gauge is the answer.
